Warner Bros. should be ashamed of its actions. They made over 450 million and counting in USA from Dark knight and over 800 million worldwide collections and are heading towards the 1 billion mark and yet they are not happy with what they have. Moving Harry Potter to summer assuming that they would make more money is a stupid and unthoughtful decision, If you look at the boxoffice records Harry Potter and Sorcerer's stone movie which was released on November 16, 2001 has made 395 million(adjusted for inflation) and a world wide collection of over a Billion while Harry Potter and the order of Phoenix which released during the summer of 2007(July 11) has made just 292 million...THIS IS MUCH LOWER THAN THE 395 million earned in November. Earning money should not depend on when the movie is released, it should be about how good the movie is. If the movie is good it will definitely earn lots of money regardless of when it is released. Even the Highest grosser of all time Titanic HAS NOT released during the summer time. I would not argue if the movie date was originally set on summer 2009, but it wasn't and there have been several ads and trailers saying that it will be released on November 2008. This sudden shift in the release date had disappointed many fans including me. This new release date is over 2 years away from the last Harry potter movie. I hope WB understands and changes the release date to what it was originally to keep millions of fans happy. If it doesn't I will conclude that WB DOES NOT CARE about the viewers feelings and all it needs is money to keep themselves happy. Ofcourse, if many fans decide not to watch the movie in theatres in summer 2009, it would mean the piracy of this movie would be the highest ever. Anyway, I think WB doesn't care about our suggestions and I doubt if they even look at these petitions.
