About Harry Potter Holiday

Hi, My I'm from Pennsylvania, United States. I am a large fan of the Harry Potter series! Like most Harry Potter fans I long for book seven, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," however, I am saddened that this will be the final book. Therefore, I felt the best way to keep excitement alive is for all Harry Potter fans to commemorate and celebrate the saga together once a year, via an international Harry Potter Day! My goal is to have 1,000,000 people sign my petiion by Harry Potter Day and release of the final book, July 21st.

There is no right way to have a holiday declared, so I have devised my own scheme to get this done. The idea is simple, I created this petition web site that anyone can sign with a valid email address. Once I have 10,000 petitions from any particular country, I will forward each of the petitions to that country's government leaders.

To document those who have contributed to this petition, everyone that signs the petition will receive a pixel on the mural. If someone places their mouse over the pixel, your petition number, first name, and country will popup. Just to show my appriciation this mural will be locked and preserved in the Gringotts' vault for years to come! Each pixel that is given away will uncover a pixel of the mural. This mural is a scene out of the sixth book, but will only be revealed as people sign the petition. Since my goal is to get 1,000,000 people to sign before the release of the 7th book, the image is 1,000,000 pixels.

To sign the petition you just click the link at the top of this page new petition, enter your email address, first and last name, country you're from and a short statement. I am serious about making this a valid petition, so to prevent repeat submissions, after you enter your petition an email will be sent to that email address (sometimes it turns up in your junk folder so keep a look out). You will have to confirm you received the email by clicking on the link, or copying and pasting the url into a browser.

As for the statement you get to write, I recommend posting either how you would like to celebrate Harry Potter Day, or why it would be awesome to have Harry Potter Day, or whatever you feel like writing about. I ask you to remember that this is a family safe web site. Feel free to also post your thoughts on the public forum and browse others' posts.
